This is a site for me to display my art. It's
not a lot, it's not the best art on the web but it's mine and I like
it, maybe you will too. If you want to make a comment about the site,
my work or just to complain feel free to contact me.
On the left you will see a number of links, these lead to the different parts of my art work. Its all a bit jumbled right now, I hope to sort it out more soon. I'll explain a little about each link here so you know what you have in store for you. I'll explain more if you follow the link.
The first link goes to the work I did for my art exam in May '06 for which I received a C grade. The question was "geometic arrangements" not an actual question but that's how art questions come in the UK.
My A2 Junk Project, i believe, was done in 2003/4. It was the first part I did towards my A2.
I did my A2 Nature Project in 2004/5, writing the transcript of the essay is the first time I've read it since I handed it in. I had a 1000 word limit and used 970, reading it now I should have used the 30 words left over. There's pleanty I could have added but I guess hindsight has perfect vision. I did at least get a good grade for it.
I started Archie & Penny at the Mind group but expanded it once I got home. I'm hoping to maybe make them into a series but I'm not very good at repeating a drawing and making it look the same.
Chalk & Charcoal is only a small section, it contains all the large chalk and charcoal drawings I've done so far. Some are studies of other artists and some are drawings of people who sat for the class.
The next section is my clay work has a number of pieces from different projects, some from the 2005 work.
I have recently started a course at the city college which will hopefully lead me on to university. This section will be to show photos and scans of some of the work I do for the course.
Flowers & Shells is all from a unit I did during my G.C.S.E.'s, if my memory's right, it was a practice unit for an exam. It ended with the whole class making their own small clay pot, I quite liked mine but it broke and was never given back to me.
Hands is only a small section, I doubt I'm finished with it yet. the thought behind it was to have hands, arms or people reaching for something, so far its always been reaching for the light but I dont know where it'll end up.
I've never made many paintings, the few I've done are very related to the stuff I did in 2005 as you will see.
The People section shows most of the work I've done about people with the exception of the 2005 work and a few others which i hope to add to the site soon.
The Photography section is just some of the photos I've taken in the last few years. I've added a fair bit to it now so it has become 4 pages so far, it will most likely expand further relatively soon.
The plaster section is the result of an exam I did a few years ago. The small white figure is a test for the final figure I made, which I have finally been able to add after taking some new photos of it.
The Signs Project I started a while ago, I do hope to continue it at some point but it is on hold for now. I want to get to know paint shop pro more before i go on so that I can edit the pictures I take better. For now there's a few pictures there with some minimal editing.
I did the Stone Work during my G.C.S.E.'s. I was only recently able to get photos of the final piece on to my computer.
Weird Things is as it says on the package, anything I just felt like doing for no real reason, well actually I could put most my work in there!
The images in the 2005 section all come form the sketch book I made that year, it's figure based work, mostly a lot of the same with a few good things thrown in from time to time.
Work From Mind is a page that will grow as I go to the art group more. Some of the stuff there is very basic but it is a group anyone can go to which means all ability levels are welcome so I won't complain.
